Product Description
The Liquid Silicone Straw Nozzle is a replaceable or built-in drinking component used in flip-lid water bottles, children's sippy-style cups, and outdoor sports hydration bottles. It functions as the primary mouth contact point — the piece users bite and suck on to draw liquid through the straw mechanism in a bottle cap.
This product is a pure OEM/customization item. Mitour Silicone manufactures to customer specification, with four common reference styles shown as starting points. Water bottle brands, cap component manufacturers, and promotional product companies source this part to either match existing bottle cap systems or develop new proprietary cap-and-nozzle assemblies.
The material used is liquid silicone rubber (LSR) — a platinum-cured, injection-molded grade of silicone that achieves higher clarity, softer texture, and tighter dimensional tolerances than compression-molded HTV silicone. This makes it the preferred material for mouth-contact components on premium water bottles and children's drinking products.
Four reference nozzle styles are shown as design starting points. All dimensions and shapes can be modified under OEM agreements.
Style | Shape | Height | Base Width | Primary Application |

LSR is injection-molded using platinum catalyst, producing a softer, clearer, and more dimensionally precise part than compression-molded silicone. For bite valves and suction nozzles — parts that contact the user's mouth directly — LSR provides a more premium tactile feel, better chemical inertness, and lower risk of odor or taste transfer.
The silicone compound is formulated with sufficient Shore A hardness to maintain the nozzle tube shape under suction force, while remaining soft enough for comfortable bite-and-release use. The material does not crack, tear, or deform after repeated biting and chewing — important for children's cups where aggressive bite contact is common.
Each nozzle style is engineered to create a 360° watertight seal with the cap assembly when not in use. The suction/bite mechanism seals the liquid channel when suction force is released — preventing dripping or leaking during transport and storage of the filled bottle.
The LSR compound handles cold beverages, iced drinks, and warm beverages within the rated range. This covers all standard use cases for water bottles, sports hydration systems, and children's cups — including warm water fills at or below 180°C.
The high-clarity transparent material allows the internal channel and valve mechanism to be seen through the nozzle wall. This is a preferred feature in children's cup markets where parents want to confirm the straw channel is clean and unblocked.
Mitour's LSR injection molding capability covers custom nozzle shapes developed from customer drawings or existing sample parts. New molds can be developed for novel nozzle geometries, proprietary connector systems, or brand-specific designs. Custom Pantone colors (including opaque, translucent, and high-clarity variants) are available.
Water bottle and drinkware brands sourcing replacement or built-in nozzle components for flip-lid and sport-cap systems
Children's cup manufacturers integrating soft silicone bite nozzles into sippy cup and training cup cap assemblies
Outdoor sports hydration brands (hiking, cycling, camping) requiring bite-valve nozzles for hands-free drinking systems
OEM cap component manufacturers sourcing silicone nozzle inserts for assembly into complete bottle cap units
Promotional product companies building branded water bottles with custom-color silicone nozzles
Replacement parts distributors stocking compatible nozzle SKUs for popular water bottle brands
This product is offered exclusively on an OEM/ODM basis. Mitour Silicone does not sell standard off-the-shelf nozzle SKUs — every order is produced to customer specification. Our in-house LSR injection molding facility handles mold development, compound preparation, color matching, and full production runs.

Q1: Is this product suitable for children — is the material safe for mouth contact?
Yes. The nozzle is made from liquid silicone rubber (LSR) that is BPA-free, non-toxic, and odorless. LSR is the same material class used in infant pacifiers and medical-grade oral contact products. It is specifically chosen for children's cup applications because of its safety profile and soft, comfortable bite feel. FDA and LFGB compliance documentation is available.
Q2: What is liquid silicone rubber (LSR), and why is it better than standard silicone for this application?
LSR is a platinum-cured, injection-molded silicone that achieves higher dimensional precision, softer texture, and greater clarity than compression-molded HTV silicone. For mouth-contact parts, these properties translate to better consumer experience (softer bite, less odor risk, cleaner visual appearance) and more consistent dimensional fit with cap assemblies.
Q3: Can you match the nozzle to our existing bottle cap system?
Yes. Please send us your existing cap sample or technical drawing. Our engineering team will assess the connector geometry, nozzle channel diameter, and sealing mechanism to develop a compatible mold. We can also reverse-engineer nozzle components from a physical sample.
Q4: What is the temperature rating, and can it handle hot water?
The LSR compound is rated from -20°C to +180°C. It handles cold beverages, room temperature, and warm water up to 180°C — covering all standard consumer use cases for children's cups and sports bottles. It is not designed for boiling water applications at 100°C under sustained pressure.
Q5: Do you support custom colors, or only transparent?
Transparent high-clarity is the standard production color. Custom Pantone colors — including opaque, translucent, and pigmented clear — are available for OEM orders. Custom colors require additional color-matching lead time. Please provide your target Pantone reference when requesting a quote.
Q6: What nozzle styles are available as starting points?
Four reference styles are available: oval angled nozzle (68mm), bent tube nozzle (75mm), round cap/push-tip nozzle (30mm), and right-angle straight-tip nozzle (47mm). These are reference designs only — all dimensions, angles, and connector configurations can be modified. A fully custom shape can be developed from your drawings or samples.
Q7: Can the nozzle be made to fit third-party bottle caps (e.g., Stanley, Hydro Flask, or similar)?
Compatibility with specific third-party caps depends on connector geometry and tolerances. Please send us the cap model or sample for engineering assessment before ordering. We do not publish compatibility claims for third-party branded caps without prior verification.
Q8: What certifications can you provide?
FDA food-contact compliance documentation is available for all liquid silicone compounds used in this product. LFGB (EU) and REACH compliance documentation is available upon request. Migration test reports for specific heavy metals and chemical substances can be arranged for market-specific regulatory requirements.
Q9: What is the minimum order quantity for OEM production?
MOQ depends on nozzle style, custom color, and whether new mold tooling is required. Please contact our sales team with your target quantity, style reference, color, and connector specification for a detailed quotation and production timeline.
Q10: Do you offer prototype samples before mass production?
Yes. Prototype or pre-production samples are available within 3–7 days for reference styles, or after mold completion for custom shapes. Sample confirmation is required before full production runs commence. Sample cost is quotable based on mold requirements.
